| Description of Research Interests |
| Motivation to acheive is critical to successful attainment of any goal. Educational psychologists have long recognised the importance of designing instructional materials to maximise the learner's motivation to acheive (Keller 1979). In relation to health care provision, the use of motivational instructional design models has been limited. Dr Stockdale's research interests focuses on the application of Motivational Instructional Design at two levels within health care: 1. Education of health care professionals in preparation for their future role as a health care educator 2. Motivational instructional design of health educational information provided directly to service users, for example breastfeeding information and support (Stockdale et al., 2008) |
